Professional writing is a formal writing style that is specific to, or for, the workplace. It allows professionals to communicate their intent and to make informed decisions on products, services, policies and/or people.

A poorly written professional document can have costly effects and usually causes confusion and irritation in the reader. While language is not something in which we can learn in a short span of time, there are strategies and structures of writing that can mediate the problem.

This course is usually tailored to the needs of the company. Participants can learn how to write polite emails, memos, reports, or instructional manuals. Some specific areas of learning could be expositions, closings, executive summaries, Memo of Transmittals and/or report formatting.
